Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision for Associate Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors seeking licensure through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

Approach

My approach to supervision is based on the developmental models of supervision. Developmental models indicate that counselor growth continues across the lifespan; therefore, my supervisor role and the focus areas are tailored to each supervisee at a specific point of time in their career development.

2

My Role

My role as supervisor may vary from teacher, counselor, or consultant across a supervisee's development, with emphasis on counseling performance skills in early stages and more attention to cognitive counseling skills and self-awareness in middle and later stages.

3

Supervision Interventions

Supervision interventions are personalized to a supervisee's developmental, cognitive, and conceptual levels, in addition to the supervisee's motivation, skills, and personal attributes, at the same time keeping the needs of the client at the forefront.

Our Clients Say

"My most cherished memories with you as my Clinical Supervisor are that you always treated me with respect, you were “present” at each session, you challenged my thinking & worldviews in a manner that prompted both personal & growth and when I was uncertain about stepping outside my professional comfort zone you encouraged me & made me see my value in the counseling field. For this strength, I am forever grateful!"
